User Experience Design

Act as an advocate for the user throughout the product/project lifecycle and conduct the following activities: project management, market research, user research, user video interviews, information architecture, wireframes creation, low-fidelity prototypes, schematics, and visual mockups.

 

User Research & Observation: 

Use of various discount & informal research methodologies to observe users in their natural environment via extended ethnographic engagements or contextual inquiry & interviews. Very effective at capturing unstated product needs, motivations, attitudes, and desires. 

 

Product Design

Usability Testing: 

Certificate holder from Human Factors International as a Certified Usability Analyst. Trained in planning, designing, and conducting effective usability testing. Experience with screening questionnaires, orientation scripts, discussion guides, task scenarios, and post-test questionnaires and reporting.

 

Requirements Gathering and Design Documentation

Experience working with stakeholders, business analysts, tech leads, and product managers to gather information and define the scope of the project. 7+ years of experience creating expert design documentation to clearly define user interface specifications for stakeholders and developers.

 

Video Ethnography: 

Able to blend into many environments and document users in their natural setting, while observing user activities, interactions, objects, and values. Skills include, interviewing, HD camera operation, lighting, note taking, logging & video editing. 

 

Visual UI Design

Visual design skills for mobile, web and TV applications. Able to create hi-fidelity mockups for interface designs.  

 

Technology Skills: 

Able to design compelling user interfaces while keeping the front-end technologies and their constraints in mind, including CSS3, XHTML, DHTML, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML5, and Angular JS.
